About Us — हमारे बारे में

Our Journey
Since 2015

What started as a single mobile clinic in Dadri has steadily expanded into a multi-state eye care network — driven by compassion, transparency, and an unbreakable resolve to fight preventable blindness.

India is home to 9 million visually impaired individuals. More than 80% of this blindness is entirely preventable or treatable — yet millions in rural villages and urban slums lack access to basic eye care.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Browse answers to common questions about our campaign operations, surgical metrics, transparency standards, and donor guidelines.

How long has Upa-Netra Foundation been operating, and what impact has it made? +
Since March 2015, Upa-Netra Foundation has been working to eliminate preventable blindness. We have conducted over 300 diagnostic camps, screened 50,000+ individuals, and successfully coordinated 25,000+ cataract surgeries, returning visual independence to rural families across NCR and Western UP.
Where does Upa-Netra Foundation primarily focus its efforts? +
Our primary focus is NCR, Western UP, and surrounding districts. We serve rural villages, urban slums, schools, factories, and highway transits — anywhere access to eye care is limited. With our Vision 2030 expansion, we are extending to multiple states across India.
Can I choose a specific project or program to support with my donation? +
Yes. Donors can direct their contribution to any of our six active programs — School Eye Screening, Shrameek Drishti, Nigaha-e-Safar, Apna Optical, Rural Mobile Eye Camps, or Urban Slum Vision Clinics. Please mention your preference in the donation notes, and we will allocate accordingly with confirmation.
Can I receive updates on the progress and outcomes of projects I support? +
Absolutely. Every donor receives a unique case tracking code tied to their sponsored surgery or camp. Quarterly impact reports, patient outcome data, and clinical audit summaries are shared via email. You can also view aggregate outcomes on our Impact page at any time.
Are there tax benefits for NRI donors donating to Upa-Netra Foundation? +
Upa-Netra Foundation is 80G certified. Indian residents receive immediate 50% income tax deduction on donations. For NRI donors, FCRA compliance documentation is available on request. Please contact our team at hello@upanetrafoundation.org for jurisdiction-specific guidance.
What transparency and accountability practices are in place? +
We publish comprehensive clinical audit reports and balance sheets annually. 87% of all funds go to front-line operations. Every surgery is logged with patient visual recovery data. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, registered under the Indian Trusts Act, and our accounts are externally audited by a ICAI-registered firm each financial year.
Can I donate in a currency other than Indian Rupees? +
We accept INR via all major Indian payment methods (UPI, NEFT, credit/debit). For international donations in USD, GBP, EUR, or other currencies, please email us directly at hello@upanetrafoundation.org. We will guide you through the FCRA-compliant transfer process and ensure your 80G/equivalent receipt is issued.
